Castor Shut-Ins is possibly my favorite place in Missouri and a hard to find beauty. Being a conservation area and not a state park it is fairly unknown. With no restrooms, amenities, or even sings to help you find its location. If you have ever been to Johnson Shut-Ins you may be familiar with the water falls and pools of Shut-Ins. But the Special thing that Castor has to offer is the amazing pink granite that seems to change color as the water rushes over the slick smooth boulders. Selfishly I don’t want other people to find this and ruin its natural beauty, but every one that lives in this state should take the trip just to see that Missouri has way more to offer than most people think.
